28 January 2009 Earthshine
This is an image of the beautiful Earthshine taken on the evening of 28 January 2009. I was testing a new 70-300mm lens on my Canon 400D. Earthshine is caused by reflected sunlight from the Earth back onto the Moon’s surface, and is sometimes known as “the old Moon in the new Moon’s arms”.
